Beaver Ponds Environmental Education Center– Fairplay, CO

“Supporting and promoting awareness in people of all ages about green energy generation, conservation of the environment, native wildlife and plant life, horticulture and domestic livestock.”

We are a resource for teaching about sustainable practices and we are looking for a way to use fiber, as well as to teach others about the fiber and animals and tie it into sustainable practices. We use the beans for fertilizer in our greenhouse, mostly hydroponic applications. If we could encourage a group in our area, we have some teachers and others interested in learning fiber arts. The fiber artists I have as contacts are all so super busy, they would love to do something but time is restrictive.

I have a 8 harness loom, a warp board, am borrowing the Montessori Louet wheel, have a smaller loom for kids, and drop spindle and wet and needle felting supplies. I have the warp to set up for a rug on the loom ready to go.

If you are interested in teaching classes or workshops in the fiber arts, contact
