Two opportunities coming up soon!
ARAPAHOE COUNTY FAIR
The RMWG would like to participate in the Arapahoe County Fair being held in late July. In order to be considered for this opportunity we truly need our members to reach out to Cherie our Outreach Coordinator at outreach@rmweaversguild.org and let her know what days times you can be there. This is our opportunity as a guild to showcase our fiber arts skills and encourage/educate others on what it means to spin, weave, knit or crochet items for ourselves and those around us. We will have a rigid heddle loom available to demonstrate your amazing weaving skills and the table area will have space for your spinning wheels or drop spindles. Our presence at this event can only happen if we have enough volunteers (4+) registered by July 15th so we can get your parking and admission passes.

* Thursday, July 28 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m
* Friday, July 29 & Saturday July 30 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
* Sunday July 31 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

CHATFIELD BOTANICAL GARDENS

PBA serves Early Childhood Education-8th grades, and acts as the magnet school for elementary-aged refugee students. It also serves other English Language Learner (ELL) students, as well as any student residing within its school boundaries.
PBA houses Newcomer Centers in grades K-6 to target the specific needs of its English Language Learning students

On the campus is a center for the Refugee Parents as well that offers support, job skill building and language learning.

The wool that RMWG members have donated is being enjoyed by the “lunch time knitting club”, The Boys and Girls Club after school program, the Parents’ Program, individual students wanting to learn knitting, weaving or crochet, the Art Teacher, and a teacher who organizes those interested in knitting and knits and sells the items to benefit the school. It has been very much appreciated and they can always use more. In addition, the liason at the school has sent me information about another group serving the same community that can use supplies. THANK YOU ALL!!! (provided by Ann Lederer)

RMWG Annual Fiber Arts Sale, Englewood
Looms and spinning wheels are set up outside the door to the sale floor. In
addition, a Fiber Exhibit is set up in the Englewood Library downstairs.
Demonstrations are usually staffed by members participating in the sale.
However, you are welcome to take part even if you are not selling anything.

Good Intentions
Good Intentions is a community service offered by RMWG to the City and County of Denver. Yarn and needles are donated and available to members at the Guild meetings to knit or crochet squares. The squares are put together later as lap rugs. Finished products are donated to the Denver County Public Assistance Program for people in need.
