“What is behind those locked doors?”

RMWG Reference Library Open House – After the April 21st meeting – 1 to 3 pm
One huge bookcase contains only woven samples! Cross Country Weavers, Foothills Guild, Marian Hoskinson’s sample collection, Rainbow Weavers, Sixteens Study Group, Robin and Russ’s Warp and Weft, Malin Selander’s Swedish Swatches and more! If there is a weave structure you would like to see a woven sample of, chances are we have one.
We were fortunate to have obtained the fiber library of Kathryn Wertenberger in 2002. Since then we have had a substantial number of items donated by Marian Hoskinson. Kathryn was a former technical editor for Handwoven magazine, a weaving teacher and an early member of Complex Weavers, an international organization. Marian was one of the founding members of Complex Weavers. Marian had one of the earliest computer controlled looms which she kept in working order and eventually donated to CSU’s fiber department. In addition to the generosity of Marian and Kathryn, multiple members of the Foothills Guild have donated their sample notebooks.
The April open house can only serve as an introduction because many of the items require study and quiet time. The Library does have a black and white copier for use at 5 cents a page or you are free to take pictures. Because this library has been set up as a Reference library, nothing leaves the area.
