Kimono: Textiles and Traditions from Japan
Timeless. Alluring. Worn across centuries, cultures and conflicts, the kimono is a modern staple to any wardrobe. Kimonos evolved to be the embodiment of Japanese art, culture, landscape and tradition. Worn by emperors, warriors, merchants and farmers, the kimono displays the wide variety of Japanese weaving, dying and embellishment arts. The Tactile Fiber Art Gallery is pleased to share this tradition with a two-month exhibit, Kimono: Textiles and Traditions from Japan. Featuring Kimono from Vintage Kimono of Boulder .
The exhibit opens June 28, 5 to 7p.m. Kimonos will be displayed through August 29. A series of events are scheduled in conjunction with the exhibit.
