‘Dances with Wool’ and ‘The Second Dance’, a Hand Spinning Study Group
Dances is a free (without cost) hand spinning study group that focuses on hand spinning skills and fiber processing and preparation methods for hand spinning. Methods include using common and/or exotic fiber, carding fiber, rolag making, carding, ‘dizzing for Top’, picker use and other tools. Dances hand spinners gather on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month (at the address below) from 9:00 till 1:00 pm. During most months, the 4th Saturday is also a time when a mini-workshop is offered and specific topics are covered throughout the year. Dances with Wool will be 5 years old in November 2016! We welcome all hand spinners regardless of their hand spinning skills or expertise. We gather at ‘The South Broadway Center’ at 4356 South Broadway, Englewood, CO 80113. Saturday morning; on our East side of Broadway and along the front of our gathering site, the parking is usually wide open. We have a very comfortable, warm, brightly lit and use of both bathrooms and a fully appointed kitchen. Hand spinners are asked to please bring your spinning wheel or spindle, a snack to share, a beverage for yourself along with your current or completed handmade beautiful item.
