Renovated Fiber Art Gallery

Posted by on Mar 20, 2018 in News

A project a year in the making (due to procrastination), the new on line Fiber Art Gallery has finally begun. The first entries are posted, with many more to come, I hope. I plan to take photos (some better than others, no doubt) of members’ work in the Show&Tell at the meetings, and at other events, such as the May Luncheon and maybe Colorado Weavers Day, and add them to a constantly growing display on the RMWG web site. If you haven’t looked at the Gallery link for a few years, take a look at it!

I will be attempting to link artists’ names with their work at meetings and so on, and will be getting their permission to display photos of their work, usually confirmed by email. You are encouraged to give your permission, but if you don’t want your work displayed you can always ask to have it removed from the page. Also, if you don’t like the photo I have, and would like to contribute your own photo, please send it to me at Also, if you have photos of your work that I have missed, please send them!

Thank you for helping me make this project a beautiful reality.

Sad News: Nancie Halls

Posted by on Mar 8, 2018 in News

It is with sadness that I write to inform you that Nancie passed away, February 28th. Nancie always enjoyed your company and friendship.
Nancie will be buried in the ocean off Wilmington where our son was buried.
Nancie’s favorite charity was Heifer International. Should you care to make a donation click the link below.
Heifer International:

With kindest regards,
Richard W. Halls
(720) 841-7751

Note from Joanne Halls, Nancie’s daughter:
My mother, Nancie Halls, was a member of the Rocky Mountain Weavers Guild for many years and she passed away on Feb 28th. She spoke very highly of the many friends she had in the guild. My parents moved to Wilmington, NC, 6 years ago so that they could be closer to me as they got older. My father, sisters, and I appreciate how much my mother loved weaving. We have many of her pieces and perhaps we can also have an action of some sort in my Mom’s memory.

NANCIE BROOKS HALLS Nancie Brooks Halls, 85, died on February 28th. She was born June 27, 1932, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Harold and Laura Brooks. Nancie was a homemaker and retired from the City and County of Denver Department of Transportation. She was an avid weaver and enjoyed gardening, knitting, and walking. Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Richard Halls, and their daughter Carol of Sutton, Quebec and grandchildren Graham, Robyn and Mike; daughter Barbara of Ft McCoy, Florida and grandchildren Cody and Katherine; daughter Laure of Mississauga, Ontario and grandchildren Mikhaila and Dayna; daughter Joanne of Wilmington, North Carolina; and nieces Laura and Carla. Their son William and her sister Barbara predeceased Nancie. A donation in Nancie’s name may be made to Heifer International:
