Huajatolla Heritage Festival, August 12 and 13

Posted by on Jul 20, 2017 in News

Dear Fiber Folk: I am going through my old lists and contacting potential vendors for a show August 12 and 13. I have combined events in Huajatolla Heritage Festival…and fiber will be a part of the Festival. It is coming along beautifully, but I would like a couple more fiber folk. The “big three” from northern New Mexico (Weaving Southwest, Tierra Woolens and Mora Mill) are all coming. Caroline Spurgeon will be teaching a Twining class and miniature Navajo Weaving class. I have quality (non-fiber) vendors as well as entertainment all day in the park both days. There also will be events at the museum, library and community center. It is a first year project, but I think pretty amazing. Please let me know if you are interested, and I would be happy to send you an application. Booths are $75. Even if you are not interested as a vendor, please consider coming to just enjoy! Please let me know it you want application or more information. Thanks…….

In Memoriam: Elizabeth Harvat

Posted by on Jul 19, 2017 in News

Long time member Elizabeth Harvat passed away quietly while napping, June 30. Her daughter, Chris Coble, emailed the announcement for the celebration of her life:

Please join the family of Elizabeth Harvat
in a celebration of her life
in the reception area at Newcomer Mortuary
901 S Sheridan, Lakewood, CO 80226
on July 22nd from 1:00 until 4:00.

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? (Kahilil Gibran)
