Outreach at the Stock Show!

Posted by on Dec 26, 2016 in News

It is that time of the year again when we start preparing to volunteer at the National Western Stock Show. The dates for 2017 are Saturday, January 7th – Sunday, January 22nd and are shifts will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. As a volunteer you receive free admission to the general grounds of the stock show. There is free parking with shuttle vans to transport you to the Educational Center.

We are also looking for volunteer or 2 to assist on Friday, January 6th from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. to help set up the booth. Please contact me via to sign up for a shift and obtain your passes.

I have been told that entry and parking passes for this event will not be available till January 5th but am hoping I can get them the last week of the year.

We speak to hundreds of people at this event, especially children, about the fiber arts. We have a loom for attendees to practice weaving and many of our members bring their spinning tools to show how yarn is made. It is a fun time for all and it is our primary volunteer event as a guild.
