Volunteer Opportunities!

Posted by on Jun 20, 2016 in News

The RMWG would like to participate in the Arapahoe County Fair being held in late July. In order to be considered for this opportunity we truly need our members to reach out to Cherie our Outreach Coordinator at and let her know what days times you can be there. This is our opportunity as a guild to showcase our fiber arts skills and encourage/educate others on what it means to spin, weave, knit or crochet items for ourselves and those around us. We will have a rigid heddle loom available to demonstrate your amazing weaving skills and the table area will have space for your spinning wheels or drop spindles. Our presence at this event can only happen if we have enough volunteers (4+) registered by July 15th so we can get your parking and admission passes.

* Thursday, July 28 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m
* Friday, July 29 & Saturday July 30 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
* Sunday July 31 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday, July 12, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Prize for Chalk Art!

Posted by on Jun 7, 2016 in News

RMWG member and retiring Education Coordinator Sandra Clark and her students designed and drew a fantastic chalk art display for the Chalk Art Festival last weekend. They won the prize for the best use of color, something we all can benefit from studying. It was reinterpreted from original artwork by Leonid Afremov, called “Pretty Nights”–
