Phoenix Fiber Mill — Request for Donations

Posted by on Jun 17, 2014 in News

Phoenix Fiber Mill will be a community project located in Olney Springs, Colorado, which is located about 40 miles east of Pueblo. The Dietrich family is hoping to give fiber growers all over a source for additional revenue by providing a full service fiber processing mill.

The Dietrich’s bought a historic building in Olney Springs and started to restore the building to house the mill. The goal of the mill is to create new jobs and industry in their agricultural area, meet the needs of fiber growers and create a venue for fiber artisans to voice their personal requirements for their art.

The Dietrich’s have set up a request for crowd funding through Kickstarter. If you would like to help spread the word and to get more information on the crowd fund, go to Facebook and like and share Phoenix Fiber Mill.

Date: Saturday, June 28th, 2014 Hours – 10am-8pm

Where: Fletcher Plaza – 9898 East Colfax Avenue, Aurora, CO 80010
This annual event is FREE and open to the public
Event Details:

Aurora, CO.: The Aurora Cultural Arts District (ACAD) is accepting vendors for its annual Aurora Arts Festival. Recycle and Upcycle is theme. We are looking for artist of all kinds not just recycled and upcycled artists….all artists welcome!

This festival is perfect for artists and crafters who make art out of recycled materials. “The recycled art movement is gaining popularity worldwide,” says Tracy Weil the Managing Director of the Aurora Cultural Arts District. “We thought it would be a fun spin on an arts festival as there really isn’t anything like it in the Denver Metro area.”

The festival will be held in Fletcher Plaza at 9898 E. Colfax Ave. Last year’s event drew over 1,500 people to the event filled with art, theatre performances and live music! Come PLAY in the Aurora Cultural Arts District! “Our goal this year is to create an even larger event – one that is all inclusive and celebrates the great artists, performers and musicians that have connections to our district,” says Satya Wimbish, ACAD Vice President. Also in attendance to perform will be Aurora’s new Poet Laureate Jovan Mays who will do select readings inspired by Aurora.

We have opportunities for vendors this year, in a non-juried area for artists, crafters and specialty vendors. We are looking for vendors and artists that use recycled or upcycled materials to create their work. Prices to vary from $65 for a booth to $100.

Creative vendors can sign up at for the non-juried section. Space is limited. Artists, creative businesses and vendors should reserve booth space now. Booth spaces are 10×10 or 10×20 foot spaces. ACAD does not supply tents as part of the booth fee. Vendors are responsible for their own set ups. Most spaces have access to electricity, for an additional fee. Set up the day is the morning of the event starting at 7am.

This year’s festival also features an opportunity for street buskers to come and show their chops in ACAD.
