New Location for Fall, 2014

We have moved our supplies, materials, and libraries to our new location at Spirit of Hope United Methodist Church. We’ll be meeting there starting in fall, 2014. There may be an open house in May or June to let members see our new facility–watch for more news!

Spirit of Hope United Methodist Church is located near Broadway and Mansfield, just south of Hampden. The entrance to the parking lot is off of Acoma, one block west of Broadway. The address is 3885 S. Broadway, Englewood, CO 80113. Contact the guild president if you would like to arrange a meeting at the church.

Education Coordinator David Johnson has announced the dates for the September and October 2014 workshops–

SEPTEMBER / MARCIA KOSMERCHOCK (MEMORIAL LECTURE AND WORKSHOP)
Lecture: “Twist, Stretch, and Shrink” (weave structures)
Workshop: “Ripples, Waves, Bumps, Bubbles, Pleats” (3 day, Sept. 17, 18, 19 on collapse weave, $180)

OCTOBER / DAVID JOHNSON
Lecture: “Evolution of a Tapestry Weaver”
Workshop: “Tapestry Weaving” (2 half days, Oct. 4 and 18, $60)

Call for Entries–“Fiber Innovations”

“Fiber Innovations” a fiber art show that will be at the new Parker Arts, Culture & Events Center (PACE). The show will be Aug. 21 – Sept. 27, 2014. They are accepting wall art representing all fiber media. There is no entry fee for the show. Up to 3 entries can be submitted. 50 art pieces will be selected for the general show. If you choose, your art can be for sale. Parker Arts, Culture and Events Center will collect a 15% commission and sales tax at the time of sale. 3RD ANNUAL ELIZABETH ALPACA SHOWCASE REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Hi Everyone,

We are excited to tell you that the new website for the May Elizabeth Alpaca Showcase is up and running.

Come join us on May 10 & 11, 2014 for the 3rd Annual Elizabeth Alpaca Showcase. We don’t want any of you to miss out on the fun so register now.

Come out and join us for a country fun time!

Did someone say Llamas? Did someone say shearing? Guess what? We have Judy Glaser from Rockwood Llamas with her mobile Llama chute coming all weekend to shear up those Llamas of yours. She will be shearing llamas all day Saturday and Sunday. Please contact Judy at 303-646-6311 or rockwoodllamas@yahoo.com to schedule your appointment. She is filling up fast so bring your llamas to the event and get them sheared.

Saturday evening, after we close to the public, around 5pm we are having a night of “Alpaca Tales”. This will be an exchange, by all of us, of fun stories or informative lessons experienced or learned for all breeders both new and established, free beer and wine. Remember you don’t have to leave, if you prefer to stay and camp out, you are more than welcome to stay the night. Yes free beer and wine! So make sure you stay for the fun and camaraderie that we enjoy.

Want to set up on Friday? Just give us a call we will be there all weekend.

Prices are $85 ea 10′ x 10′ space, $60 ea booth/stall space after that. Panel rental if you do not have any are $8 for each panel.

We are also offering Marketing Promotions to anyone that can not attend but would like to have their ranch information included. Marketing Promotions are $85 which allows you to have your banners displayed, flyers and/or business cards enclosed in visitor bags.
