Posted by on Sep 10, 2013 in News

Looking for wonderful hand made articles of clothing, textiles and art that our members have created for the library display to promote our fiber arts sale. Look in your cupboards and bins for things that can be put on display in the Englewood Library for the month of October. We will accept and take loving care of your work(s) of art at the September guild meeting. We will return all items either at the end of the sale or at the November meeting. Elizabeth Fiber Festival, Sept 21-22

Posted by on Sep 10, 2013 in News

Mark your calendars!! September 21 & 22, 2013, is the 2nd Annual Elizabeth Fiber Festival. It will be at Casey Jones Park, in beautiful Elizabeth, CO on the corner of Highway 86 & County Road 17.

We will be showcasing all fiber animals, goats, sheep, rabbits, llamas and of course our beloved alpacas.

Our purpose at this event is to promote and educate the public about our fiber producing animals and their fleece and to showcase the wonderful products made from all of these animals.

We would love to have you join us in September. It is the weekend before National Farm Days, so come out promote your farm, hand out flyers, and gain an advantage on those visitors to your farms. Vendors come out and promote your unique products and services.

There will be weaving, skirting/sorting, crocheting/knitting, and other demonstrations throughout the day.
We look forward to seeing all of you September 21 & 22.

September Shuttle Scuttle Available On Line

Posted by on Sep 6, 2013 in News, Programs, Workshops

Welcome to the new guild year!

The Shuttle Scuttle newsletter is now available on line (see the Newsletter page). You’ll need the new password to get to it. If you didn’t receive the email from our President, Bev Kajko, email
membershiprecords@rmweaversguild.org or
webmaster@rmweaversguild.org, and we’ll try to figure out what the problem is.

The Programs and Workshops committee has a fine series of programs and workshops for this year– we’ll be weaving baskets, crammed and spaced warps, warps with multiple layers, and Navajo rugs (small ones!). Later, we’ll be learning about painting on silk, marbling, nuno felting and surface design–check out the Programs and Workshops page.

The new yearbook (sometimes called the directory) will be available at the September guild meeting (or will be mailed to those who paid the fee for postage). It’s almost ready for printing and posting on the web page!

The proposed budget for 2013-2014 is available either in the September newsletter or on the web page in the drop down menu under Guild Information. Members will have an opportunity to discuss and vote on it at the September guild meeting.
